Dash Sculpture Day 1 wipby *bigponymac

Traditional Art / Sculpture / Fantasy

This is my second attempt on this sculpture. I had started last Thursday but hated where it was going. I'm much happier with this start.

The base will eventually look like clouds like in my concept sketch [link] . I'm getting everything laid out right now. Tomorrow (or whenever I get to work on it next) I'll work on attaching a head and neck to the body and getting that fleshed out. I'll also add some detail to her tail.

It looks like a jelly-bean with legs about to go down a waterslide in this stage. Interesting how a shape as basic as this will turn into something awesome like Rainbow Dash.

That's all drawing and sculpting is. You take basic shapes and add more shapes to them.

If you think about it, a pony's basic body shape looks kinda like a jelly bean. lol

Oh god...jelly bean ponies. Must resist the urge to draw them!
