This is the product after a week or so since the last update. I'm having to build it up little by little so that the clay can harden enough to support its own weight. The good thing about the paper clay is that it doesn't take nearly as long as normal clay to dry out. I can lay down some coils and in a few hours or the next day I can layer some more on top of them.
You may or may not be able to see it in this photo, but some of parts of the tail might have a darker, greener look in comparison to the rest of the clay. This is because some of the older paper clay I wedged together with the new batch has started to rot and turn greenish-black. There's also a funk to it. As someone mentioned here on DA "it smells like the world's open tombs". This has no effect on the clay other than it makes it smell bad and gives it a different color. I'll try to remember to take a closer picture next time to show you guys.
And the bags are to keep the rest of the sculpture from drying out too much while I work on the tail. Had to use three cut garbage bags because one bag wouldn't fit over the entire sculpture.
