Big Luna Sculpt Tail Complete by bigponymac Big Luna Sculpt Tail Complete by bigponymac
Well mostly...

I've finally finished constructing the tail. Any further work done on it will consist of smoothing, detailing, and other finalizing work.

It may look funny in the pictures, but it looks fine in person. I had to take some serious artistic liberties to achieve a voluminous look to the tail using this medium without any sort of underlying armatures. This was built hollow just like the rest of the sculpture.

Now I move on to the final step. The head.

The hind leg looks like she was damaged by some sort of terrible attack from Discord and is in the middle of regenerating! The covering makes it look like veins and stuff. (has seen too much anime)

Lol

Well, those were just wet paper towels to keep the legs moist while I worked on other stuff. They're no longer there.

Yeah it's going to be at least a two-man job. At least the kiln here at school is big enough.

There will definitely be cracks. There are always cracks. But fingers crossed there aren't any major ones that will compromise the entire sculpture.

This should be fun on dealing with balance of the clay so that the head doesn't fall off :I

Good luck to you my good sir! It's looking more epic all the time :D
